Our Story
Yaal Fertility and Women's Centre was founded as a one-stop destination for fertility and maternity care in Chennai. The name "Yaal" comes from the ancient Tamil stringed instrument — the yaazh — symbolising harmony and joy. It is a promise we make to every family who walks through our doors: your harmony in healing.

Our founders, Dr. Rukkayal Fathima (MS OG, MRCOG UK) and Dr. Ashik Ahamed (MS, MCh), built Yaal to change that: a centre that is technologically superior yet deeply empathetic, transparent in its success rates, and affordable — because whether rich or poor should never decide whether a woman can become a mother.

The Doctor Behind Yaal
Dr. Rukkayal Fathima
MBBS, MS (OG), MRCOG (UK), FRM
Dr. Rukkayal Fathima's journey in medicine began at the prestigious Madras Medical College, where she earned her MBBS and MS in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Driven by a passion for helping couples struggling with infertility, she pursued advanced training abroad.
Her MRCOG from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK) and a Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine equipped her with cutting-edge knowledge in assisted reproduction. During her international training, she worked with some of Europe's leading fertility experts, mastering advanced IVF techniques, ICSI, and reproductive surgery.
With over 15 years of experience, 3,000+ IVF cycles supervised and 6,000+ successful pregnancies, Dr. Rukkayal is recognised as one of Chennai's most trusted fertility specialists. Her approach combines international best practices with genuine empathy — she personally supervises every treatment cycle, ensures transparent communication, and treats each patient's journey as unique.
Before founding Yaal Fertility Centre, Dr. Rukkayal co-founded Hive Fertility in Chennai, further deepening her expertise in building patient-centric fertility programmes.
