Ultrasound Services at Yaal Fertility Centre, Chennai
Fertility scans, follicular monitoring, and pregnancy imaging
What is Ultrasound Services?
Ultrasound imaging plays a central role at nearly every stage of fertility and pregnancy care, from assessing ovarian reserve and detecting fibroids or cysts, to tracking follicle growth during IUI and IVF cycles, to confirming an early pregnancy and following fetal growth over time. At Yaal Fertility Centre, our in-house ultrasound services allow scans to be scheduled promptly as part of your treatment or antenatal plan, so results can inform decisions without unnecessary delay. Depending on what your doctor is looking for, this may include a transvaginal scan (which requires an empty bladder, for the clearest view of the ovaries and uterus), an abdominal scan later in pregnancy (which usually needs a moderately full bladder), a dating scan typically done a few weeks after a missed period, a detailed mid-trimester anomaly scan around 18 to 22 weeks, growth and Doppler studies in the third trimester, or 3D/4D imaging. A scan generally takes 15 to 30 minutes and is not painful, though a transvaginal scan can cause mild pressure. Every scan is performed with attention to comfort and clear communication, so you understand what is being looked at and why.
