Check-ups, screening scans, labour and your baby's first days, all inside Yaal's own hospital near Kilpauk Metro.
Founded by Dr. Rukkayal Fathima, MRCOG (UK) · 15+ years
Kilpauk is the Yaal centre with labour and delivery rooms, operation theatres, a neonatal care unit and an ICU. The obstetricians who see you for check-ups work in the same building where your baby will be born, on Poonamallee High Road.
Women from Anna Nagar, Aminjikarai, Purasaiwalkam, Chetpet, Villivakkam, Perambur and Kolathur come here for the whole pregnancy. The hospital is a short walk from Kilpauk Metro on the Green Line, and New Avadi Road and Taylors Road bring families in from the north and west.
There is an emergency and triage area on site. If you have bleeding, pain or leaking fluid between visits, you are seen in the hospital that already holds your scans and notes.
Mothers from Anna Nagar, Shenoy Nagar and Chetpet can have their check-ups and their delivery in the same hospital, a short drive from home, with the Kilpauk Metro on the Green Line close by.
All three obstetricians here are trained in high-risk pregnancy care. Having theatres, an ICU and a neonatal unit in the building matters most in pregnancies like these.
High blood pressure or pre-eclampsia
BP and urine checks at every visit, growth scans in the later weeks, and an ICU on site if a mother becomes unwell.
Gestational diabetes
The sugar test at 24–28 weeks, diet advice and medicine if needed, with growth scans to see how the baby is responding.
A previous caesarean
Your doctor reviews how the last birth went and talks through a planned caesarean or a trial of labour, with the theatre in the same building either way.
A baby measuring small
Dr. Kunguma Sangeetha does growth scans here, so the baby can be measured at regular intervals and the timing of birth planned around it.
Bleeding or pain in early pregnancy
An ultrasound to see what is happening, and a clear plan for follow-up.
Pregnancy after fertility treatment
Many women conceive with the fertility team in this building and simply carry on their check-ups here.
Dr. Kunguma Sangeetha also does the NT, anomaly and growth scans. Dr. Nandhini G M's work includes antenatal and postnatal care.

Inside the Kilpauk hospital
Planning the birth
Around 36 weeks
You talk through how labour usually starts, when to come in, who to call, and what to pack for you and the baby.
When labour begins
Emergency and triage
You are checked on arrival and moved to a labour and delivery room when it's time.
The birth
Labour room or theatre
Most babies are born in the labour room. If a caesarean is needed, the operation theatre is in the same hospital.
Your stay
In-patient rooms
You recover in an in-patient room. If your baby needs extra care, the neonatal care unit is in the same hospital, so there is no transfer.
Postnatal check
About six weeks later
A check on your recovery, feeding, stitches, mood and contraception.
Booked at another Yaal centre?
If your check-ups are in Mylapore, Red Hills, Pallikaranai or another Yaal centre, Kilpauk is where your baby will be born. Your doctor will tell you when to visit Kilpauk before the birth and will send your notes ahead, so the labour team already knows your history.
