Book directly. No referral is needed, and you can come at seventeen or at seventy.
Irregular or heavy periods
Cycles shorter than 21 days or longer than 35, or bleeding that lasts more than a week. PCOS, thyroid problems and fibroids are the usual causes.
PCOS
Confirmed from your cycle pattern, a hormone test and a scan, then a plan for periods, skin, hair and weight.
Painful periods
Cramps that keep you off college or work, or get worse each year, are checked for endometriosis.
White discharge and infections
Normal discharge is clear or white. Itching, burning, a bad smell, or a thick curd-like or greenish discharge needs a check.
Fibroids and ovarian cysts
Often picked up on a scan done for something else. Most need nothing more than a repeat scan.
Pelvic pain
Ongoing pain low in the abdomen, scanned in the same visit.
Menopause
Flushes, broken sleep and mood swings, usually starting in the mid-forties.
Thyroid and hormone problems
Hair fall, weight change or acne that won't settle often has a hormonal cause a blood test can find.
Contraception and pre-marriage check-ups
Pills, copper-T and other options explained, and a basic health check before marriage if you want one.

Expect to spend most of the time talking. The doctor asks about your periods, any pain, past illnesses and the medicines you take. An examination is done only if it will help, and only after she explains it and you agree. Girls and unmarried women have a scan over the abdomen instead of an internal one.
The ultrasound room, blood collection and pharmacy are all in the building on Kannan Nagar 3rd Main Road. If you had a scan done elsewhere recently, bring it, as the doctor may not need to repeat it. Most women leave with a diagnosis or a clear next step, and a date to come back.
Everything below happens in the same building, usually in the same visit.
In the same visit
A few small things make tests more accurate. For a scan over the abdomen, drink three or four glasses of water an hour before and don't empty your bladder, because a full bladder gives a clearer picture. An internal scan is done with an empty bladder.
Book a Pap smear for a day when you are not bleeding, and avoid intercourse, vaginal creams and washes for two days before. If PCOS or a hormone problem is suspected, some blood tests are best taken on day 2 to 5 of your period, so the doctor may ask you to come back then.
Patients come from Nanganallur, Ullagaram, Puzhuthivakkam and Adambakkam, and after work from Guindy, Velachery and the airport. The centre is open 9 AM to 7 PM every day, so a Sunday visit is easy to plan.
Don't wait on these
See a doctor within a few days for bleeding after menopause, bleeding between periods or after sex, or a period so heavy you change pads every hour. Sudden severe pain with vomiting, or pain with a positive pregnancy test, needs care the same day.
